Portofino was on the bucket list of both Alla and I. However, the only way to stay there is at some overpriced buys - we had learned from fellow sailers.
The solution was to go to Rapallo, which is also a lovely town on the Italien Rivera. A little expensive, but a lovely place (167 EUC/night). Booked via Navily and everything worked perfectly. Modern facilities and a very posh harbour office.
On the way, we sailed into Portofino port and had a thorough look from the sea - impressive!!!
Only downside to Rapallo proved to be the music at the pier restaurant, right next to our berth. A DJ created bum-bada-bum-badabum sounds continuously until 2 a.m. on the first night.
Next night was jazzy live music - much better. But the DJ took over later and the bum-badabum-badabum continued...
We took a bus from Rapallo to visit Portofino from the land-side.
Not as impressive as it had been from the sea - but still a must see, when in the area.
And a check-mark on our bucket list :-)
City of Rapallo was preparing the Maria-festival (or something). Surprising us with spectacular fireworks - first row seats from the cockpit of 'Sakura'.
