Breskens-Oostende

• Even though only a fresh wind, the combination of the wind against us and a powerful co-current created unpleasant swell
• The swell drove Alla to the edge of mutiny and the captain had to act as the mean Cpt. Bligh of the Bounty to calm her down
• After five hours we reached Oostende but had to wait for the lock keeper to allow us access to the marina

The bad weather conditions continued after docking at Mercator Marina in Oostende - forcing us to stay for three days.

However, it was fine as both Oostende and the nearby Brugge were very nice places.

In particular Brugge is worth a visit, although pretty crowded by tourists here in July.
