Day started very rainy and planned departure 7 a.m. was postponed. At 9 a.m. it cleared and we decided to go - and so did the Danish catamaran, Perle III
Weather developed nicely and we had a good day for sail and engine, until reaching the passage Raz de Sein
We had noticed from the forecast that there were risk of windy showers when approaching Audierne - and closing up to Raz de Sein we saw it coming in
We were wise enough to take down the mainsail before it reached us, but we had not foreseen the terrible waves that rose with the wind over the powerful current at Raz de Sein
The next hour was a horror ride - try check out what is written about the Raz de Sein
We were tossed around and had to steer manually through the waves to avoid capsizing - all three of us thought we needed clean underwear when we finally reached Audierne
