Fécamp

24/7-26/7, 2023

Dieppe-Fécamp

  • Light westerly winds
  • Sun behind thin cirrus clouds and a cold wind made it a little chilly
  • Kept the sails up all the way but chose to assist with engine to avoid pinching and tacking

Original plan was only one stop-over but due to the nice surroundings and a wet weather forecast, we decided to stay another day.

Photos are some impressions from Fécamp

The light blue boat was a Dutch built 40' half-scale prototype from 2001 of a 80' boat - intended for easy handling by a single person.

The carbon fiber mast of 21 m had no stays (no wires holding the mast). Only mainsail - no jib - but hydraulic operated turning device of mast and boom to adjust to the wind.

The owner said it was the only one of its kind in the world :-)

And for boat enthusiasts...
