l'Aber Wrack

21/8 - 24/8, 2024

Tréguier - l'Aber Wrac'h

  • Wind in our nose almost all the time, the mainsail was up for less then half an hour
  • Longest leg to date - 71 NM
  • Co-current to begin with but ending up with counter current - slowing us down considerably - 14 hours of sailing, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Big swell > 2 m height
  • Approach to l'Aber Wrac'h challenging - had to pass narrow openings between rough cliffs and reefs
  • When approaching the marina we were met by a the Harbour Office in a dinghy showing us a proper berth

Bad weather forecasts made us stay three days in l'Aber Wrac'h waiting for the right conditions

At the marina we were welcomed by a Danish catamaran, Perle III

Kim and Anette on their way to Canary Islands and Cap Verde, where they would join a pre-arranged convoy crossing the Atlantic
